Installers around New Zealand, Australia & the USA choose Ultibend

As an installer, what is important to you is likely different to what is important to someone stocking stainless steel fittings. We understand that variability can add significant cost and time when trying to install stainless steel tube fittings. The initial cost price of the fitting is only half the story if it takes 50% longer to install. That is why we invest most of our time and energy working to create the most dimensionally accurate stainless steel fitting in the world.

We strive to minimise variability with the following features:

Bend Angle

Ultibend’s highly accurate and fully servo-controlled benders, ensure a consistent bend angle is maintained. Compared to hydraulic machines that vary as they heat up and cool down, our servo controlled machines churn out the same angle bend after bend, whether it is the first or the last one of the day, it will be the same.

Cut squareness - face to face

Investing in accurate, solid and reliable machinery that holds the same angle goes a long way to ensuring our cut faces are trimmed to the correct 45, 90 or 180 degree angle.

Cut squareness - face to straight

This starts with getting the bend angle true to the desired angle. Once we have got that correct, our bespoke trimming machines ensure that the cut face is square to the straight section of the fitting.

Cut squareness - off plane

Accurate trimming fixtures are critical in ensuring that the cut face is true to the plane of the bend. We invest and maintain our trimming fixtures to ensure that we hold our bends securely and accurately during the trimming process. Any slop or inaccuracy in the fixture, can result in off plane cutting issues.

Wall Thickness

Ultibend uses AS1528.1 tube to produce fittings. Our bespoke high quality tooling manufactures bend fittings free of internal scratching, eliminating the need to internal polish. This in turn, minimises wall thickness variations on the weld face.

Ovality

Our post bend sizing processes ensure that the weld end sections of the fitting are round and match the tube diameter that the fitting is being welded to.

Ultibend Guarantee

If an Ultibend fitting does not meet your fair expectations for dimensional accuracy, we will replace it free of charge.

Struggling with inconsistent bends?

If consistent, easy to install fittings are something that you require, make sure you ask for Ultibends from your local reseller.

FAQ

We have bend tooling across the 12.7mm up to 101.6mm size range with a nominal 1.5D center line radius. Between 25.4mm up to 152.4mm we have bend options at 1.35D centre line radius. And between 31.8mm up to 101.6mm we have tooling that ranges between 1.8D and 2D.

We have capacity to offer custom variation on a single bend per tube section. For example; 1 extended leg, custom leg lengths, custom angles. We are unable to offer custom bending solutions for multiple bend parts. If you have a custom bend enquiry get in touch with us at sales@ultibend.com

The centre dimension on the 180s is bigger than twice the nominal bend radius, what is going on here? As with any metal forming process you get some spring back in the material. WIth Stainless steel tube bends, this is happens by causing in a small amount of radial growth. This is only noticeable in 180 degree bends, as the centre dimensions are larger than expected. Typically we get radial growth of around 2-3%, so if this is critical for your end use, make sure you get in touch with us on sales@ultibend.com before finalising your designs.
